Two new models sport 1080P full HD recording and ultra-wide viewing angle to capture as much of the road as possible, with flagship model integrating Bluetooth Smart wireless technology for added iRadar alert capabilities.

Cobra Electronics Corporation, the leading designer and marketer of award-winning automotive, mobile and consumer electronics, today announced the launch of the all-new CDR 835 and CDR 855 BT Dash Cams. These models are the latest additions to Cobra’s award-winning Drive HD series and assist as the perfect eyewitness and roadside companion for audio and visual evidence of any event. The models were on display throughout SEMA in booth #11739 in the North Hall.

The CDR 835 and CDR 855 BT offer recording in 1080P full HD video, eight GB MicroSD memory card and continuous loop recording. Both models also feature a two-inch LCD screen, ultra-wide 160-degree lens, and a G-Sensor, triggering the unit to automatically and permanently protect clips if an impact is detected.

The flagship CDR 855 BT includes patent-pending technology that connects the dash cam to a smartphone via Bluetooth Smart wireless technology, unlocking exciting new features. It also integrates dash cam technology with Cobra’s iRadar Community, allowing for access to GPS location information from a smartphone, as well as receiving alerts to upcoming speed and red light cameras, live police locations and shared radar alerts. With millions of iRadar users already on the road, information is timely and accurate and helps keep drivers more aware of surroundings.

Additional features of the CDR 835 & CDR 855 BT include:

Parking Mode – Provides visual event recording while a vehicle is parked. If motion is detected or the G-Sensor is triggered, the camera will automatically wake-up and start recording

Snap Shot – Snap a still photo at any time during a video, perfect for posting or event evidence

Action Cam Mode – Switch to action cam mode to disable the G-sensor and loop recording to free the camera from the confines of a windshield

Quick Release Mount – Sliding mount allows for quick setup or teardown on any mount that uses a standard tripod mount screw

“Anything can happen on the road – accidents, traffic stops, even funny or interesting moments, which is why we provide our drivers with the best possible products and video options for capturing every moment behind the wheel,” said Sally Washlow, president of Cedar Electronics. “Our ability to integrate the iRadar Community into a dash cam changes the game for the industry. The new Drive HD Dash Cam models, especially our top-of-the-line CDR 855 BT, go above and beyond standard video recording to provide value added features that consumers will love.”

The CDR 855 BT was selected as a finalist and 2nd place winner in the 2015 CTIA Hot for the Holidays Awards in the connected car category, which recognize the hottest mobile consumer electronics, devices, wearables, accessories and entertainment, home and car products in time for the holiday buying season.

The CDR 835 and CDR 855 BT will be available in November in time for the holiday shopping season at Amazon.com and Cobra.com for retail price of $139.95 and $169.95 respectively.
