LADA SPORT ROSNEFT team will be joined by Dutchman Jaap van Lagen  in the next round of the WTCC (Germany,15-16 May). The Dutchman re-enters the LADA SPORT fold for the first time since 2009 as the championship prepares for its highly-anticipated Race of Germany on the Nürburgring – a track he has prior experience of, having competed in a number of VLN meetings at the infamous venue.

Jaap van Lagen most recently tested the second LADA SPORT ROSNEFT Vesta TC1 alongside Huff at the Hungaroring earlier this week.

Van Lagen, aged 38, was a member of the Russian Bears team in 2008 and then LADA Sport team in 2009, firstly piloting a LADA 110 before the outfit phased in the LADA Priora during his second season with the squad.

Between 2010 and 2014, the Dutch driver featured in various international racing series, including the Porsche Supercup, Blancpain Endurance Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2013 he participated at the Nordchleife in 24h Nurburgring. In 2014 he finished 2nd in the ADAC GT-Masters. Jaap van Lagen will also participate in 24hNurburgring this year after the FIA WTCC Race of Germany.
