Russian FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) outfit, LADA SPORT ROSNEFT, fielded three all-new 2015 Vesta TC1s at Marrakesh’s Circuit Moulay El Hassan (18 April).

The cars and team again looked resplendent in the Moroccan sunshine, but, behind the scenes, the team knew that it faced an uphill struggled at the start of the weekend with Mikhail Koslovskiy’s Vesta yet to turn a wheel in anger, and sister Vestas of Rob Huff and James Thompson opting for engine changes, inducing penalties before the event commenced.

The LADA SPORT ROSNEFT garage was a busy place, as the Huff lead the charge in qualifying, setting the 13th fastest time, with Thompson and Koslovskiy in 16th and 18th respectively, as guests from title sponsor – oil giant ROSNEFT – joined an array of guests from Russia’s leading automotive publications and a delegate from the Russian consulate in Morocco, to lend their welcome support.
